Replace your AppCard for better security and functionality
App State is in the process of upgrading and installing card readers across campus. If you have one of these AppCard styles, your card needs to be replaced with a new one.
Card replacements are free for faculty and staff through July 1, 2025.
Why replace your AppCard
- App State is in the process of upgrading and installing card readers that will no longer accept a magstripe (for example door access readers, vending, Campus Dining, printing, and more).
- To avoid any disruption in service or access, faculty and staff are encouraged to replace old cards by July 1.
- The new cards include a contactless "tap" feature, which are more effective at securing your data. Tap cards are the current industry standard, as they encrypt data more effectively.
Where to replace your AppCard
You can replace your card at Campus Services Express:
- Boone campus — on the second floor of the Campus Store.
- Hickory campus — at the CS Express desk, on the first floor.
