The AppCard Office is responsible for issuing all AppCards. Whether you need your first AppCard or a Replacement AppCard, we are here to help.

Photographs

  • Anyone needing a new  AppCard can submit a photo by email following these instructions.
  • The Appcard Office can take your photo. 
  • The name on the AppCard must match the name in Banner. 
  • There is a nominal fee for a  replacement card. 

Who Needs an AppCard?

The following persons are eligible to receive AppCards:

Current Students

  • AppCards are issued to all students upon their arrival on campus.
  • The general fees paid by students include the charge for the first AppCard.
  • There is a nominal fee for replacement cards. 

Faculty & Staff

  • AppCards are issued to all faculty and staff on their first day of employment.
  • Employees must present an AppCard (Photo ID) Request Form available from the Office of Human Resource Services or the AppCard Office and employment will be verified.
  • New employees are issued the AppCard at no charge to them.
  • There is a nominal fee for replacement cards. 

Retired Faculty & Staff

  • AppCards are issued to all retired faculty and staff upon request.
  • Retired employees must present an AppCard (Photo ID) Request Form available from the Office of Human Resource Services or the AppCard Office and retirement status will be verified.
  • Retired employees must turn in their old AppCard and are issued a new card showing retired status at no additional charge.
  • There is a nominal fee for replacement cards. 

Dependents

Dependents of current students, permanent employees (faculty and staff) and retired employees qualify for an AppCard and associated privileges:

  • Dependents requesting AppCards must be accompanied by the student or employee and the appropriate forms must be completed.
  • Students requesting Dependent AppCards must be currently enrolled at Appalachian State University.
  • Employees requesting Dependent AppCards must be permanent (not temporary) or retired employees of Appalachian State University.
  • Dependents under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult while using university facilities.
  • There is a fee for these cards. 

Dependents of temporary employees are not eligible for AppCards and the associated privileges.
